We are very happy to officially announce the return of the ETCOC, the European Team Carcassonne Online Championship.
In this way, we fulfil the aim of turning it into a championship that is held every two years, so as not to overload the calendars of the different international communities of Carcassonne.
This new edition will be held on October 28 and 29. Yes, you read it right, it will take place just during two days. The reason is very simple: making viable international competitions that can last many weeks require a very large effort that right now the organisation of this championship and the WTCOC can only carry out once a year, since we always strive for having competitions as complete and fluid as possible.
Other big news for this edition is that teams will have to be made up of a minimum of 12 players and a maximum of 15. In this way, we ensure that the communities that participate in the championship give the opportunity to live this experience to a larger number of people. This increase in team members will be accompanied by a fundamental premise for this measure to make sense: as long as the number of matches in the previous phase allows it, all registered players will have to play at least one of the matches.
To finish this brief presentation, we want to announce that registration will open on October 9 and that the rules of the competition will be publicly shared as soon as possible. They will be very similar to those of the WTCOC, but adjusted to the changes we just announced.
We hope that you are as excited as we are and that you are willing to participate in an international competition with the best players in Europe.
Have fun!
